Portal, GA – July 20, 2020 – The pioneering spirit is alive and well in the U.S. as evidenced by the new Netflix original adventure series, “Southern Survival.” It debuted worldwide on July 3, 2020 and has taken the streaming service by storm. It’s already earned a position in Netflix’s Top 10 and features BATTLBOX, a small business based in Portal, GA.
“Southern Survival” grew from BATTLBOX, a subscription service for survival tools and gear. Daniel Dabbs, CEO and founder of BATTLBOX, created the service in an effort to impart his own passion for the outdoor life to others and provide outdoor enthusiasts with the best gear on the market. His testing of various types of survival gear and tools is what ultimately led to the popular Netflix series.
BATTLBOX is a subscription service in which individuals can sign up to receive a box each month containing an array of gear that’s been personally tested and selected at BATTLBOX Ranch by Dabbs and his team of outdoor experts. BATTLBOX was launched in 2015, has shipped over 1 million boxes to monthly subscribers around the world, and offers multiple subscription options from which to choose.
In “Southern Survival,” Dabbs and his team create survival scenarios that emulate real-world emergencies such as intruders, wild animal attacks, and natural disasters. The team tests different types of outdoor tools and gear to determine if the items are effective and perform well. The series is leavened with humor, features Southeast Georgia vistas, and celebrates the spirit of small business and entrepreneurship.
The BATTLBOX team is comprised of Dabbs, aka “The Boss”; Brandon Currin, vice-president of marketing and self-proclaimed misfit of mayhem; Steve Jordan, reluctantly appointed as the “Test Dummy”; and Mikki Montgomery, procurement/product specialist.
In every episode of the Top 10 Netflix series “Southern Survival,” the BATTLBOX crew utilizes the six pillars of survival to escape multiple types of dangerous situations, while testing a wide range of tools, gear, and equipment.
