Ludwig & Robinson Members Present at ABA Conference On Cybercrime and Funds Transfer Fraud

WASHINGTON, D.C. – January 27, 2020 – Robert W. Luwig and Salvatore Scanio of Ludwig & Robinson PLLC (L&R), a Washington, DC law firm,will present their paper, Technology and Salvage: Using Social Media in Recovery and Allocating Cybercrime Funds Transfers to Third Parties, at the Fidelity and Surety Law 2020 Midwinter Conference of the American Bar Association, Tort Trial & Insurance Practice Section, in New York, New York on January 31, 2020. 

The conference theme is “A Whole New World: The Impact of Technology and Cybercrime on Fidelity Policies.”  L&R’s presentation will briefly discuss how social media may be used in locating financial assets and applicable regulatory guidelines.  They will then address the latest trends in cybercrime involving fraudulent funds transfers, and how losses are allocated between insurers or their insureds and third-parties, particularly banks.

Robert W. Ludwig is a founding member of L&R.  A graduate of Colgate University and the Washington and Lee School of Law, he is engaged primarily in commercial and insurance litigation in trial and appellate courts across the country. His practice includes insurance law, banking law, and auditor liability, as well as international law, aviation, and intellectual property.

Salvatore Scanio is a member of L&R.  He is a graduate of Tulane University, earning B.A. (cum laude with departmental honors), J.D. (cum laude), and M.B.A. degrees.  His practice focuses on domestic and international litigation involving banking, insurance, and other commercial disputes.  He advises clients on liability, defenses, and loss recovery in bank and corporate fraud schemes, and represents insurers in fidelity and financial institution bond investigations, coverage disputes, and litigation.
