From 6th to 10th December 2020, GITEX visitors will have the opportunity to see Submer’s MicroPod in action in the Area 1 of Lenovo’s booth (Dubai World Trade Center, Hall 6 Stand E10) dedicated to AI, HPC, IoT and Edge.
High Density and Low Latency Anywhere
The MicroPod, the latest addition to Submer’s advanced immersion-cooled compute and datacenter solutions, has been designed to meet the challenges of Edge and Cloud computing in a smarter and sustainable way. The system allows you to deploy High Density Compute at the “Edge”.
The modular and easily scalable design of the MicroPod guarantees fast deployment and easy relocation in any kind of environment. The Edge-ready, tamper-proof system of the MicroPod perfectly fits with the needs of Edge based needs & environments, in regions such as the Middle East, where cooling represents an ever-growing challenge due to its climate conditions.
A flexible and dynamic Immersion Cooling solution, the MicroPod allows for:
- Zero water consumption.
- Reduced CO2 emissions.
- Impervious all-weather deployments (dust, heat, humidity).
- Ultra-low energy footprint.
- Hardware agnostic and IT gear flexibility (19-inch, 21-inch OCP, OpenEdge with depths up to 800mm).
- Plug-&-Play. Hook up to network and power and it’s ready to go.
A Self-contained Edge Datacenter-in-a-Box
Thanks to its design and the use of the proprietary SmartCoolant, specifically tailored for single phase Immersion Cooling, the MicroPod can dissipate up to 6kW in an unprecedented compact space and improve reliability & performance of the IT hardware lifespan with consequent improved resilience and levels of security.
“GITEX Technology Week will be the first event in the world where the MicroPod will be on show at the Lenovo stand. Dubai is the perfect region to launch such innovative technology and we are proud to be doing this in collaboration with Lenovo where we will demonstrate Edge Computing solutions for Edge environments and 5G Telecommunication solutions.” -(Clinton O’ Leary, META Regional Director of Submer).
On his part, Dr. Christopher Cooper, General Manager, Lenovo Data Centre Group, Middle East and Africa said: “For us at Lenovo our key focus is to provide our customer with smarter infrastructure to increase sustainability and operational efficiency as computing requirements ramp up. We are far beyond the days of chilling datacenter rooms and using fans to blow hot air away. We have already experimented and deployed water-cooling solutions globally and it gives us great pleasure to work closely with the likes of Submer locally to showcase the latest immersion-cooled compute and datacenter solutions”.
Submer was founded in 2015 by Daniel Pope and Pol Valls to make operating and constructing datacenters more sustainable and efficient. Submer helps enable datacenters that make sense through products, platforms, APIs, processes and installations that will move hyperscalers, supercomputers and colocation datacenters to new levels of efficiency and innovation.
