Ampu Wear Clothing Inc. Readies New Fashion Forward Adaptive Clothing Line for Adults with Disabilities

During New York Fashion Week, Trauma Survivor & Business mogul announce that they will follow in the footsteps of fashion icon Tommy Hilfiger and others with the launch of the new adaptive clothing line, Ampu Wear Clothing,Inc. in April during Limb Awareness month!

New York, NY – Ampu Wear Clothing line Inc. proudly announced today that the brand is set to unveil a new fashion-forward adaptive clothing line in support of National Limb Awareness month in New York City’s garment district this coming April. The New York presentation will mark the global launch of the 2018 Ampu Wear Clothing, Inc. collection. According to brand executives the pop-up presentation will include inclusive designs that are outfitted to suit the needs of those with limited mobility.

Trauma survivor and Rockford Illinois native, Troy Malone, is the co-owner and global brand ambassador for the new brand. The designer and active member of the National Amputee Coalition, say’s “Ampu Wear seamlessly integrates adaptations into the company’s designs to better serve the physical & psychological needs of amputees.” Empathetic to the needs of the consumer, Malone further states the consequent effects of living with a disability generally leaves amputees feeling uncomfortable when out in public. Ampu Wear Clothing, Inc.’s designs will include hidden zippers, velcro enclosures, reinforcement patches and more.

Malone’s life was changed forever in 2014, when a semi tractor-trailer on the side of the road rolled back on his leg. Enduring over 27 surgeries in desperate attempts to salvage his lower limb, Malone was left with little to no choice and made the courageous decision to have his leg amputated.

After a chance meeting of the minds, Malone & longtime friend Paul D. Jones, came up with the idea of designing “a user-friendly” clothing line. Jones, a multi-million dollar businessman, celebrated author, and philanthropist, incidentally learned that after tragedy struck, Troy had notably begun to design his own clothes.

At press time, Malone recall’s partnering with a local tailor to custom design his wedding day attire. Troy designed a $6,000 tuxedo that would seamlessly hide the openings in his pants to accommodate his new prosthetic leg. Inspired to help others and with the encouragement of his wife, Troy co-designed Ampu Wear Clothing, Inc.’s new collection to become a viable brand for people living with disabilities that are discouraged by the limited options available in the retail sector. Ampu Wear will be sold through e-tailers and select brick & mortar shops across the globe. Designs will retail between $20 and $400, depending on the items. The business duo has plans to release two collections annually.

Touted by NBC & FOX news as the money guru, Jones is also celebrated for his intrinsic passion to improve as many lives as possible. The nationally acclaimed financial literacy instructor shared his excitement about the possibilities to come as he and Malone foray into the 1.2 trillion dollar fashion industry.

The philanthropist’s new mission to expand adaptive fashion will also serve as a platform to provide financial resources to organizations that provide mental health treatment and support to trauma survivors.

Jones further reports the brand will be donating a portion of the company sales to select charities. According to the Minneapolis implant, “Most clothing for amputees is created with functionality top of mind rather than the design aesthetic. Leaving fashion-conscious amputees with very few options. Our innovations not only satisfy the needs of the fashion conscious consumer but also provide ease of access for individuals and caretakers.”

Further details on the official launch are underway and will be formally released in coming weeks.
