Only three episodes into the first series of NeverMind the Shitcoins, and it seems the show’s creators are in trouble already.
The podcast, which dubs itself ‘a topical panel quiz show all about blockchain, Bitcoin and altcoins‘, launched into a series of ‘jokes’, labelling Kim Kardashian and Steven Seagal, “ill-informed influencers”, even insinuating that Mr.Seagal once defecated himself on the set of a movie.
We reached out to representatives of Kardashian and Seagal, and while we are yet to receive a reply, sources inform us they intend to investigate all claims made by the show’s host, Benjamin Bateman.
In response, Mr Bateman (real name Sunderland), had this to say:
“They both shilled, awful, horrible projects and they know it. What does an Ethereum Maxx do, why do they need to burn 400 Trillion tokens, Kim? And as for Seagal, he can go cry in his safe space.”
Kardashian and Seagal weren’t the only celebrities to be on the receiving end of claims by Bateman either. Other big names who could potentially sue for slander (according to the show’s own Twitter feed!) include: Vitalik Buterin, Justin Timberlake, Bill Cosby, Ashton Kutcher, Kim Basinger, and more.
Makers of the show indicate they plan to proceed with the rest of series one before reviewing future Bateman’s involvement, to which the host had this to add;
“They don’t pay me, so you know, we’re just ripping off NeverMind the Buzzcocks anyway, and that was ripping off the Sex Pistols before it. It’s crypto chaos and I get drunk the whole way through. If you like Bitcoin and crypto, and don’t take it all too seriously, check out the show.”
Whether the show has any future remains to be seen, however early fans of the crypto quiz podcast seem to enjoy the tongue -in-cheek comedy so far, with 5 star reviews across iTunes and Spotify.
