VaynerSports Client Walter Powell Jr. named to Forbes 30 Under 30 2020 List for new app Politiscope

NEW YORK – Walt Powell, former NFL wide receiver and creator of Politiscope, a news and information aggregator mobile app that allows users to register to vote, stay up to date with polls, learn recent legislation and donate to candidates, has been named to the 2020 edition of the prestigious Forbes 30 Under 30 List.

While still playing, Powell began developing the app to help Americans improve their knowledge and understanding of politics by making information more accessible and less biased.

“It’s non-partisan. Not left, not right. Straight down the middle. You can’t be mad at the information that we’re providing because it’s facts, it’s factual,” Powell said.

With the 2020 Presidential election less than a year away, Politiscope is gearing up.  In June, Gary & AJ Vaynerchuk signed on as advisors and have provided services from their social and digital agency, VaynerMedia.

Powell’s NFL career spanned four years (2014-2018) with the New York Jets, Oakland Raiders and Buffalo Bills.   Powell’s co-founder at Politiscope is Jackson White, who takes the lead on editorial direction.

“What we created is an app that is a one-stop-shop for politics. We aggregate objective media into our user friendly platform while also breaking down and explaining every bill a politician votes for or against into layman’s terms so that the average person can be more informed and more engaged in the political process. You can track elections, donate directly to campaigns, create your support/oppose list, see where politicians stand on certain topics by their voting history, register to vote, and contact politicians. They can call their politicians from off their politicians’ page. In this day and age people don’t have time to just sit down and do research for hours, especially not millennials and genZ’s. Simply put, we are empowering people with information and action items”
