Author Laurel Anne Hill Receives First Place in The San Francisco Book Festival and National Indie Excellence® Awards

The Engine Woman’s Light Honored by the San Francisco Book Festival and the National Indie Excellence® Awards.

The Engine Woman’s Light by Laurel Anne Hill receives first place for best science fiction novel at the San Francisco Book Festival. Hill also receives first place in the National Indie Excellence Awards in the Steampunk Category.

The San Francisco Book Festival competition considers books of many categories and genres. A panel of experts judged the novels based on the author’s passion for telling a good story and potential to reach a wide audience. Hill’s novel, The Engine Woman’s Light, was chosen winner of the Science Fiction Category and runner-up in the Young Adult and Wild Card Categories.

The Engine Woman’s Light also won the National Indie Excellence (NIEA) first place award in the Steampunk Category. NIEA is a contest to celebrate a range of titles in print from independent, university and self-publishers. The NIEA celebrates independent publishing as a strong and proud facet of the publishing industry. The Engine Woman’s Light is recognized for its excellent form and content.
