From College Dropout to Security Council

January 25, 2018 – New York, NY – On January 31, 2018, African artist MAINZA KANGMOBE, a proud representative of Zambia, will release his latest album, “TIME TRAVEL 101”. The album serves as Mainza’s eclectic & seminal work, encompassing a generation of thought, perseverance, and music.

Having been consistently grinding in America for a bit, “Time Travel 101” is the foundation for more music to come from an intriguing artist. Often seen consorting with a who’s who of trendsetters & tastemakers – from the youngest world-class entrepreneurs to political dignitaries – Mainza’s personal silence allows for his music to be his mouthpiece.

Essential to Mainza’s growth is an awakening experienced as a youth. Driven by an inner compass, an inert intuition, a connection to what is – Mainza is in tune with the universe, and his calling. “Time Travel 101” explores this theme, as records like “Weatherman, Kings, U Fcked Up, Boombox and Jezebel” exemplify the grit of making it in New York City as a black, african, college dropout, and immigrant.

While “Day Say” is a record meant to bring awareness for the “#Children Not Soldiers” Campaign which aims to galvanize support to end and prevent the recruitment and use of children by national security forces in conflict.

It’s not everyday that you get to meet a humble soul such as Mainza. In late 2014 Mainza was offered a position in the United Nations Executive Office of Political Affairs and in 2016 he accepted a promotion in the Security Council Affairs Division within the department of Political Affairs.

Mainza’s organic and home-grown fanbase is a testament to his relate-ability & quiet charisma. “Other than helping people, one of my dreams is to just make art,” Mainza says “I’m only getting started, I have so many dreams, I hope to share, connect, engage, learn with and from fellow dreamers across the World.”
