A moving masterpiece exposing the dark secrets of toxic patriarchy in Southern society!
LOS ANGELES, CA – April 28, 2021 – Author and screenwriter Rain Story has released her latest book titled Cool Hush: Memoirs. A survivor of toxic patriarchy and abuse, Rain shares her experiences of what it was like growing up in an abusive Southern patriarchal society. The intent is to empower women and others to find their voice.
Cool Hush: Memoirs takes an electrifying look into a Southern patriarchal KKK society, its demand for silence from its victims and witnesses, its oppressive dominance over females and others, and the killings that brought a family to its knees. This narrative shines a light on what it was like growing up in small-town Greenwood, Arkansas, in the 1970s and how it affected Rain’s life in the following decades. This story is critical as the global #MeToo movement continues and women struggle to have their voices heard. News stories about this topic come out every day, such as “Child [edited] Abuse Statistics” and the American Psychological Association’s “Harmful Masculinity and Violence.”
