LOS ANGELES, Calif. – August 3, 2020 – At a time when the global pandemic seems to have no end in sight, many teens are escaping; they’re reading more, specifically YA Fantasy. There within the pages of secret worlds and characters that refuse to die, they can mentally escape for a time from the reality of this new normal.
The Leafwing, a new YA Fantasy book by author, Deborah Copeland, is a novel that metaphorically encourages young people to face their fears and persevere; that they have power and strength deep within them that they never knew they had.
Fourteen-year-old Amelia Ricci remembers when being plain and nerdy was safe. But everything changed the day she discovered that monsters disguised as teenagers attend her school. In fact, one befriends her, and her entire world is changed forever when he reveals what she really is; that she’s not just a mundane girl at school.
Now Amelia has the chance to solve the puzzle to the questions that have plagued her for years.
