Gretchen Mol to Represent Evolve at New York 2018 Cantor Fitzgerald 9/11 Charity Day, Alongside the Release of Gun Safety PSA Series Featuring Texas Family

Gun Safety Non-profit will be releasing two PSAs on 9/11 with actress Gretchen Mol as their celebrity ambassador at 9/11 Cantor Relief Charity Day in New York.

New York, NY – September 12, 2018 – American actress and former model, Gretchen Mol, will be attending the Cantor Fitzgerald Annual Charity Day event as the celebrity ambassador for Evolve, a charity promoting responsible personal choices about gun safety behaviors.

Cantor Fitzgerald Annual Charity Day is a global event commemorating those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001. Cantor Fitzgerald and affiliate, BGC Partners, distribute 100% of global revenue to The Cantor Fitzgerald Relief Fund and dozens of charities around the world on Charity Day. This year, the event will take place on Tuesday, September 11th, continuing the tradition of perpetuating a positive legacy by helping others. The event hosts many distinguished celebrity “ambassadors,” including actors and actresses, politicians and athletes, who conduct trade phone calls with clients to raise money for the participating charities on 9/11.

For the second year, Gretchen Mol will be attending the event as the celebrity ambassador representing Evolve. Evolve is most known as the little-gun-safety-non-profit-that-could charity, promoting personal responsibility and gun safety with breakthrough digital marketing and media campaigns. Evolve does not promote a political agenda; the emphasis being on gun safety behaviors through individuals located in gun-centric states, gun ranges, gun owners and industry relationships. Evolve’s work for the last two years has focused on Safety Saturday’s ‘Clear It. Check It. Lock It.’ http://www.evolveusa.com, working with gun-enthusiast states such as Texas and Indiana providing marketing tools to engage more consumers and owners in gun safety.

Mol is a film, television and stage actress, most notably known for her roles in the films Rounders, Celebrity, 3:10 to Yuma, Boardwalk Empire, The Thirteenth Floor, Manchester by the Sea, and her lead role in The Notorious Bettie Page. Mol will visit with staff and traders, and conduct a trade phone call in order to raise money for Evolve, The Cantor Fitzgerald Relief Fund and the many other charities participating in the event.

“Evolve uses humor and creativity to communicate something that is sometimes hard to talk about,” says Mol. “I’m just happy to be participating in the Cantor Relief Charity Day and supporting Evolve’s mission. As a mom and a New Yorker, helping others and promoting safety is near-and-dear to my heart.”

This is Evolve’s forth year participating in Cantor Fitzgerald Charity Day. “It’s a no-brainer in countless ways to carry-forward a legacy of doing good on this particular day,” said Evolve founder Rebecca Bond. “The Cantor Fitzgerald Relief Fund created an overwhelming benchmark for finding a silver lining in the context of overwhelming tragedy. Cantor Fitzgerald Charity Day recognizes the value in doing ‘impossible’ things and has made it not impossible for Evolve to innovate new approaches in the hardest of places. Innovating for change always means going for the moonshot. That means a little audacious, creative and working with all sides. Keeping at this in new ways is the only way to get to new solutions.”

Filmed from their farm in Texas, The Scott family shows life through the lens of a Texas family in rural America, talking candidly about their loss and changing everyday conversations around gun safety. “There is no such thing as completely responsible when it comes to gun safety, and I’m not afraid to call out irresponsible when I see it,” says Tiffany Scott. Tim, a retired police officer, says if he can ‘shout gun safety messages from the rooftops,’ then something positive will come as a result of the death of his son.
