“How to Tell Stories About & With Black Women in the Creative Industries” – The AYA MasterClass

The unmissable meeting of creative professionals of color, this new masterclass takes us on a journey to craft the best possible stories about and with Black Women in the Creative industries. Deconstructing historical stereotypes, acknowledging cultural milestones & paradigm shifts, acquiring practical resources, and much more…

London, United Kingdom – August 6, 2019 – Aya Consulting, the award-winning creative firm providing organisations, associations and individual clients with tailored branding and content creation solutions, has joined forces with Pamela Ohene-Nyako, a historian & founder of a literary platform Afrolitt.com. Together, they present a new online MasterClass following last year’s “Tales of the Diaspora in Creative Consulting” to impart great tools and resources on “How to tell Stories About & With Black Women in the Creative Industries”.

Under the general theme of visual storytelling, the AYA MasterClasses are designed for creative professionals to meet, exchange, learn as well as produce content under the bespoke supervision of an experienced and passionate host. In this MasterClass, historian & founder of online literary platform, Pamela Ohene-Nyako will share insightful, research-based information on how to enrich narratives featuring Black female characters whilst ensuring that creative environments become and remain safe and inclusive spaces for Black women creators.

Fictional characters who happen to be both Black and women are not only disproportionately sparse but also seeped in negative stereotypes. To foster change and develop new narratives, the MasterClass is a practical resource for creatives who are eager to learn how to tell more culturally relevant stories to the masses.

The MasterClass is now available online at ayaconsulting.be. It also exists in a PLUS format with two additional videos – an exclusive interview between founder of AYA Consulting, Muna Lobé and Pamela Ohene-Nyako & a Behind-the-Scenes look at who attended the recording of the MasterClass. Also, it includes the enriched MC Guide and access to a Live Facebook Q&A with the host.
Subtitles are available in French for both versions.
