The tech startup that is making social media a parenting tool is now crowdfunding on StartEngine!
October 7, 2020 – Mesa, Arizona – In September 2020, Cyber Dive launched its first crowdfunding campaign on StartEngine, allowing individuals the chance to invest and be a part of the new wave of parenting in the digital age. As millennials become parents, they have taken a different approach in the way they view social media and raise their children with it. According to research conducted by Think with Google, 8 out of 10 millennial parents see their child as their best friend, and 74% include their children in household decisions. Cyber Dive was created to strengthen relationships between parents and their children by using social media as a resource and tool. Cyber Dive’s business model and mission directly reflect the progression of millennial parenting, tech, and social media.
Progressing With Social Media, Not Against It
“The idea of keeping a child off social media entirely is becoming less and less feasible. So instead of blocking a child’s access to the digital world which has plenty of positives to be gained, we are on a mission to make the experience as safe as possible for kids, and building confidence in parents that their kids are alright.” – Jeff Gottfurcht, Co-Founder and CEO of Cyber Dive.
Proprietary Software Built By In-House Engineers
Cyber Dive provides parents with a user-friendly dashboard that allows them to easily monitor their children’s social media accounts. Cyber Dive’s patent-pending software allows parents to soothe their fears surrounding their children’s online activity while allowing them to connect with friends in a safe and controlled manner.
The Minds Behind Cyber Dive
Co-Founder and CEO Jeff Gottfurcht is the first person in the world to summit Mt. Everest with Rheumatoid Arthritis and has 14 years of experience on Wall Street. Co-Founder and CTO Derek Jackson served as a Military Intelligence Captain in the U.S. Army, leading a team that analyzed the social media activity of adversaries and radical insurgents overseas and used his expertise to create the proprietary software behind Cyber Dive.
“We packaged the tradecraft I learned serving our country overseas into an easy to use tool that any parent can understand. I gave commanders the ability to make life altering decisions; and now you can have the ability to make more informed decisions about the good and bad that your children are seeing on social media.” – Derek Jackson, Co-Founder and CTO of Cyber Dive
Cyber Dive not only gives monitoring access to some of the most popular social media platforms but is compatible with both iOS and Android devices unlike competitors in the industry. Cyber Dive also takes a unique approach in the way they deliver data to parents. Cyber Dive presents unbiased data so that, regardless of parenting styles, they can decide what is/isn’t worth addressing with their child.
2021 Business Model
In less than two years, the Cyber Dive team has gone from two founders to a team of seventeen. The tech startup plans on introducing a subscription freemium model, with many of the most popular and used features behind a paywall in Q2 of 2021. This will allow Cyber Dive to continue growing its core user base with an introductory, free platform, and create enough friction to drive sales to the paid premium model and tools.
With plans of scaling in the upcoming years, Cyber Dive’s crowdfunding campaign is attracting individuals who believe in the progression of social media and utilizing it as a parenting tool.
